DJ Connection Is Now Hiring - What Do We Look For In Our Dallas Wedding DJs?
As 2012 rolls along we are again experiencing record growth. Our customer service team has been bombarded with inquiries, our maintenance department is sprucing up everything in preparation for the spring. The offices in Tulsa and Dallas are being expanded and there is a aura of excitement in the air as always. And as always, the proverbial elephant in the room(I'm sure there is a reference to an elephant in proverbs somewhere) is that the only limiter to our growth continues to be our ability to find and attract the right people for the right jobs.
When brides hire us to work as their Dallas Wedding DJ, they are not just hiring us to hang out and press play, they are truly trusting us to turn their wedding reception into an inspirational celebration of their lives. In order to do this and wow her we are always hiring, and looking for the best candidates we can possibly find.
Over the years we have built quite the dream team, and the question is often asked, where do you find people like Eric Herman? Where do you find quality people like Matt McKenna & David Burlin? Where do Jason Bailey's come from. And so today, I thought it would be appropriate for us to articulate in writing what exactly we are looking for out of our candidates. Who knows you may even be the ideal candidate to become the best dj in Dallas.
1) We are looking for the well-pressed 1st impression that wows. When brides meet us and see us in action they are going to formulate an opinion quickly, and we want this opinion and first impression to be a positive one. Does your appearance inspire confidence or does it beg the question, "I wonder how many days in a row this guy has slept in his car?"
2) We are looking for people that are attentive good listeners. On the day of the wedding, most brides have a thousand things going through their minds and literally 200 people fighting for a moment of their time. It is our job to listen to their needs and to quickly adjust our presentation to meet their changing needs. If they need the music "cranked up" or the music "turned down" we must accomodate them with joy. If they want us to "get the party going" or to "do whatever you have to do to get people on the dance floor" we must be eager to serve them. We must be able to listen attentively and passionately. We are there to serve the bride and she must know that.
3) We are looking for people that are confidently self-aware and not self-conscious. We are looking for folks that can get on the microphone and confidently introduce the bride and groom. We are looking for people that can confidently discern whether a song is appropriate or not. We are not looking for people that are blindly confident and unable to distinguish whether their announcements are too loud or not. As odd as it sounds, there are many humans out there that have completely replaced their self-awareness with self-confidence. If you smell bad, you should know it.
For more information about the jobs that we are now hiring for please contact the DJ Connection Tulsa Wedding DJs office today at 918-481-2010 or you can contact our Dallas DJ office at 972-408-6580.
