Here at DJ Connection we are starting a "get in shape challenge" here in the office. Because of this we are discovering random health tips that we would like to share with the world... or at least those who happen to find this blog. The first health benefit that we are trying to start up is drinking water. While the majority of our DJ's live on a strong amount of Red Bull and 5 hour energy, we are discovering that drinking water actually helps us with living. Weight loss is one benefit of drinking water, not only because it can take the place of other beverages like soda that are full of calories and sugars, but because it can also act as a appetite suppressant--so we may be able to say no to that forth piece of wedding cake for the week. Water also helps with headaches and loss of energy from dehydration. Dehydration is also the cause of many other problems in the body, such as digestive, skin health, and lack of energy during athletic activities. So by adding more water to our diet we have been able to get a better workout, have better skin, have more energy to rock out shows (all though we haven't completely stopped with the Red Bull and 5 hour energy), and have even lost some weight. For the DJ's that don't like the non-tastiness of water, flavored water is a good choice to keep your taste buds interested. More health tips coming soon!
