With the holidays fast approaching, the annual corporate party can't be far away. DJ Connection has seen many great and terrible ideas from the company parties we have been at as MC/DJs, and wish to share this wisdom. The three things/ideas we will discuss in this blog are prizes, drinks, and fun with the "higher-ups." First of all, prizes. Prizes are one of the key reasons why employees go to the holiday party. Other than the social pressure to show up at this "might as well be mandatory" event, prizes (and free alcohol) are the biggest reason to go and stay at the party. Because of this, the host of the event needs to be able to announce that prizes will be happening, and maybe even show a preview of the prizes that will be given away.The company does not necessarily need to have huge gifts, as long as the person announcing the gifts can excite people about the possibility of winning a 25 dollar gift card. Finally if you want people to stay the whole evening, the biggest prizes should be saved for last. Drinks are something that many employees will go for, because they are guaranteed to get a drink, while they are not guaranteed to get a prize. While some free drinks are great, the people planning the event should take heed to not allow free drinks all night if there will be people that might have too much "fun" and end up embarrassing themselves or others. This is a good way to lose your job, so make sure you don't overdo it.
